This major UK PLC has one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Europe. Their business is very dynamic and very dependant on IT for competitive advantage and this creates an environment of constant change and innovation.
The leadership team is determined to bring about further major transformation to build on the successes of the past two years and they wish to hire a number of like-minded, determined individuals who can make a difference.
They want to substantially add to their architecture group and wish to identify a number of senior individuals with architecture background and experience in CRM, SAP, SOA, billing, EAI or similar. The Head of Solutions Architecture will be responsible for both leading a small team and undertaking key architecture tasks and projects. They would also be interested in speaking to other enterprise architect candidates for consideration against other roles.
Responsibilities:

Lead, manage and develop a small, talented team of IT Solution Architects.

Work closely with the business to understand and analyse business goals and use this information to guide architecture plans, practices and deliverables.

Lead architecture design activity.

Define and apply appropriate governance principles across the design and architecture process.

Participate in design reviews.

Liaise with other IS teams to ensure consistency of approach and architecture.

Act as a thought leader - engineering innovative solutions to meet business requirements.

Liaise with and lead external technical resources (contractors and SI staff) to deliver technical solutions.

Contribute to the overall architecture framework for the business.
Skills and Experience Required

Strong leadership abilities combined with effective communication skills.

Extensive high level design and architecture experience gained either in an end-user or System Integrator environment.

Knowledge of methodologies and tools such as TOGAF, DoDAF, Zachman etc.

Previous experience with Applications Development, Network Design, Middleware, Servers and Storage, Databases or Operations.

Educated to degree level.
You must be a UK / EU National or already be resident in the UK and have a current Work Permit.
