This early stage UK Company has a revolutionary product that is set to revolutionise media consumption. They have signed high profile strategic relationships with major media firms and are in the process of going global with their business.
The company has an experienced management team, impressive investors and a growing number of strategic relationships with leading media and broadcast firms. The product has received wide acclaim for its innovation and capabilities
They need to hire a talented Head of Delivery to manage a rapidly growing software development team, currently c35 developers. They need to identify a strong leader who can ensure the efficient running of the group; maximising the efficient and predictable output of high quality product.
Responsibilities

Line manage up to 50 people ensuring the smooth running and development of the team

Ensure engineering delivers against technical and business requirements.

Build and manage processes to ensure regular product releases that are fit for purpose from a quality and functional perspective

Develop an engineering leadership team and build a succession plan

Build the culture of the engineering team to embrace innovation, challenge, pace and passion.

Recruit and grow the team

Ensure that development, test and QA function cooperatively and efficiently.

Provide detailed and timely reporting on progress and issues to the senior leadership team
Skills and background required
-
Previous experience of running a software product development team of 30+ people.

Circa 15 or more years in the software development industry.

Experience of highly scalable, cloud-based consumer services.

Experience with Scala, Java, IOS and Android development environments.

Good technical understanding particularly of web based systems/development.

Practical experience of multiple development and process methods such as Agile, Waterfall and Kanban.

Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle with particular emphasis on continuous quality improvement

Natural leader, able to inspire, enthuse and manage a highly technical team.

Strong practically focussed intellect probably with an engineering or numerate based degree

Good communications skills including effective writing abilities

Energetic and enthusiastic persona.

Detail oriented and willing/able to take a hands-on approach to a wide variety of technical, process or people issues.
You must be a UK / EU National or already be resident in the UK with a current Work Permit.
