Salary: C£80,000 - £90,000 OTE c£160,000 + benefits + significant equity plan.
This UK company has a unique set of products that are SaaS based and sell to a wide variety of firms in multiple industry sectors.
This is a hands-on sales role for someone to lead and build a sales operation encompassing multiple sales channels including web, tele-sales, field sales, channels and partners. The successful candidate will lead a small team of internal and field sales exceutives and have responsibility for recruiting additional staff and developing the capabilities of the team. The Sales Director will also take personal responsibility for a small number of key major sales prospects.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed quarterly group sales targets in two distinct areas:
1. Manage a team of internal and field sales executives focussed on high volume lower value transactional sales.
2. Meet personal sales target for high value Document Management software solution aimed at major enterprises. Typical order values of £100,000+
- Recruit additional sales staff in line with plan and revenue achievement
- Co-ordinate sales activities with the marketing team ensuring a consistent message
The successful candidate will be able to build and lead a multifaceted sales process including online, web based sales, telesales, field sales, partners and alliances. Sales will vary from strategic 'platform' level sales through to high volume/low value transactional sales.
The ideal candidate will be a highly polished New Business Software Sales leader, capable of establishing credibility at senior levels, who can demonstrate an outstanding and proven track record of selling low to medium value products into new markets. The individual must have the tenacity and intellectual capability to evangelise new products and concepts into markets that are undergoing technology change.
The candidate must show evidence of repeated over-achievement, driving tactical and strategic plans as well as exceeding revenue and strategic goals in assigned named accounts.
The individual must be able to demonstrate an ability to build and lead a multi channel sales operation and be able to scale this into European level sales.
Essential Skills
- Must be a new business oriented sales person.
- Not a pure manager, you need to take on accounts personally and directly contribute to sales success.
- Track record of selling into new accounts and pioneering new markets
- Minimum of 5-years direct, new business software sales skills with consistent over achievement of financial targets
- Proven record of building and leading teams of sales staff to achievement of revenue goals
- Comfortable selling to C levels
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of building a low cost, multi channel sales operation including web and telesales functions.
- Persistent, self-starter, mentally tough and requiring minimum supervision.
- Ability and willingness to contribute at all stages of the sales cycle.
- Experience in selling applications to both technical and business customers
- Able to manage complex high value sales campaigns but not at the cost of being distracted from the low value, volume opportunities.
- Organised and process driven work style
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills combined with good listening and analytical abilities.
- University education preferred, important to have strong and pragmatic intellect with fast learning abilities
- Must have experience of selling business software applications. Knowledge of document or content management solutions would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Willingness to travel is essential
- French or German language skills would be a bonus
